Our traditional chicken, Buff Orpington, is a purest's farmers choice for that backyard breed. They provide an excellent tasting meat and an abundance of eggs. We've raised these for ourselves for quite some time and figured, maybe you'll love them as well. They grow much slower, about twice as long, than the Cornish Cross broiler and don't get nearly as big. They are what a chicken "was" and the cornerstone of our pastured chicken operation. Longer growth periods means more time soaking up the sun and foraging for food! This leads to the healthiest of birds as nature intended with better Omega 6:3 ratios and product higher in Vitamins E and D with an antioxidant boost much higher than those raised in confinement.
