A seasonal product that goes fast; ready for pickup around May! The $50.00 deposit secures the minimum order of 5 chickens at $10/bird. Of course you can pre-order more than five, just let me know and we will create an order for the additional number of desired birds. The cost per pound of $7.00 is applied to the finished weight, minus the prepaid deposit. A breakdown is shown below using an average weight of 4.5 pounds per bird.
- $7.00 x 4.5 pounds = $31.50/bird
- $31.50 x 5 birds = $157.50
- $157.50 - $50 (deposit) = $107.50
Of course every batch has it's outliers, some that refuse to grow, and some that think they are turkeys! So if you have a preference we will also take that into account when filling the orders, just let us know!

These are the champs! Red Rangers are the answer for homestead meat chicken raisers, who want large breast meat portions in relation to size, without the ethical issues of fast growth broilers. Our broilers are not the fast growing hybrid chicken, typically grown in the industry. We invest in a slower growing cross specific to pasture raising. Ours are grown on pasture with no hormones nor antibiotics. It takes a good bit longer with these but in the end we have a healthier bird with better Omega 6:3 ratios and a product higher in Vitamins E and D with an antioxidant boost much higher than those raised in confinement.
